Workplace Consultation and Ergonomics

A variety of services are offered for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace.  Services are provided in health care, construction, industrial/manufacturing and office environments.

 Ergonomic Assessments

An evaluation of the worker and their workstation to identify risk factors associated with the job demands and provide a range of control measures to reduce or eliminate the risk of injury while optimizing productivity.

Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)  &  Job Site Analysis (JSA)

A  quantitative examination of the physical demands of the essential duties of a specific job.  A PDA is beneficial for medical professionals to make an informed decision about an employee’s return to work following an injury.

 Return to Work Plans

Developed in conjunction with the worker and their employer to determine suitable positions, accommodations or to implement transitional work programs.  Consultation with the primary health care provider ensures any medical concerns are addressed and that the RTW program is within the worker’s functional abilities.

Job Coaching

Regular observation and involvement with the worker upon their return to work to suggest ergonomic equipment or process changes that may make the job tasks easier considering their previous injuries and current functional abilities.  Job Coaching is a useful tool for a third party determination of job suitability upon a RTW.

 Customized Education Programs

Education and training is critical in the prevention of injuries and the maintenance of employee safety within the workplace.  We will work with you to develop a plan specific to your company’s needs.

Training is available in:  Ergonomics (basic principles), Musculoskeletal Disorders, Manual Materials Handling, Job Rotation and Office Ergonomics.

Implementation of Ergonomics Programs or MSD Prevention Programs

We work with you to assess incidence of injury and develop a plan to reduce injuries in your work place.  This may include implementation of Job Rotation, developing a system for reporting ergonomic concerns and/or developing a Musculoskeletal Disorder Prevention Program that incorporates many of the above listed services.

Ministry of Labour Orders

If you have been issued Ministry of Labour orders at your workplace that direct you to assess the incidence and cause of injuries, implement preventative measures and develop policy and procedures to reflect these measures and to provide training and annual re-training of employees in the areas of injury prevention – call for a consultation.  We can help develop a plan to meet the required deadlines set out by the MOL and work with you to meet the criteria of the order.
